- Pays for release of four inmates
It was indeed moments filled with ecstasy as members of De Norsemen Kclub International, Ika Chapter (Rantaberg) filed out on Wednesday, October 15 to contribute their quota to development.
Members of the Ika Chapter of the internally recognized group on that special outing to commemorate their global day, October 15 donated two Traffic Boxes to the Agbor Zonal office of Delta State Traffic Management Agency, DESTMA and also, food items to the inmates of Nigeria Correctional Service, Agbor. Again, during the outing, the group payed over Seven Hundred Thousand Naira#770,000) for the release of four inmates who were jailed with options of fine.
The group ‘s business for the day began with the official hand over of the two Traffic Boxes to DESTMA at the Owa-Ekei junction axis of the Old Lagos/Asaba Road. The DESTMA, Agbor Zonal Head who received the Traffic Boxes on behalf of his Delta State Chairman, Chief Peter Idion thanked De Norsemen International, Ika Chapter for identifying with its activities, noting that the gesture will greatly boost the activities of the agency which was out to save lives and properties through effective traffic control. He assured that DESTMA will continue to live up to the expectations of both government and residents.
However, at the NCS, Agbor, the group donated food items which included a 50kg bag of rice, a bag of garri, drugs and cartons of indomie nodules to support the feeding of the inmates.
They also went ahead with a payment of Seven Hundred Thousand Naira (#770,000) for the release of four among the inmates who were jailed with options of fine.
Responding to the gesture, the Controller, NCS, Agbor, Superintendent Chibuzor Okoyeahwu expressed gratitude to De Norsemen Kclub International, Ika Chapter for the show of love to the inmates. He urged members of the group to keep on with the good work as good rewards await them.
He used the medium to list the current challenges of the Command which include a functional workshop and medication. He disclosed that the inmates will be busy and had meaningful periods during incarceration if there is a functional workshop to engage them daily in different vocations.
Meanwhile, the Ika Chapter Leader of the De Norsemen Kclub International, Mr Chukwuekwu Okwuogori said that their actions were part of the activities lined to celebrate their day. He stated that October 15 every year was globally known as De Norsemen Kclub International Day.
He disclosed that humanitarian activities are carried out by them in every October 15. He promised that his group will keep contributing meaningfully to both humanity and the society at large.
The group during the visit to the NCS, Agbor took out time to praise and worship God with the inmates. It appreciates the NCS authority for the task of handling the inmates, urging it not to relent.
DNKI Humanitarian Day is an annual event observed by De Norsemen Kclub International (DNKI) on every October 15 to support underprivileged individuals through acts of service and charity. On this day, members of the club distribute food, clothing, and other essential items to those in need, symbolizing their commitment to serving humanity and embodying the values of their organization.
