The Obi kindred of Igbe Ogume in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State has declared their 25-year-old son, Harrison Chinedu Obi, missing.
A family member, who made the information available to Ika Weekly newspaper and claims anonymity for fear of being killed, stated that Harrison Chinedu Obi fled to an unknown destination as his life was under threat. Continuing, our source disclosed that, “The members of the deadly Osenkpika group, a brotherhood of the Reformed Ogboni Fraternity (ROF) secret cult where Harrison’s late father, Ogbuefi Monday Obi belonged, are after his life for his refusal to succeed his late father in the cult”.
Our source further said that late Monday Obi died on August 1, 2016 and that trouble started after his burial in early October 2016 when the Osenkpika brotherhood approached Harrison to remind him of the position of his late father in their cult group and that being the first son he was initiated as a child to succeed his late father whenever he dies.
To the disappointment of the Osenkpika cult, Harrison has grown up in a strong Christian faith such that he refused to associate with the cult. The matter got heated up as Harrison, who could no longer bear the trauma he was passing through in the hands of members of the Osenkpika brotherhood, reported the issue to his mother, Mrs Doris Obi, who raised alarm.
Three months later, Harrison fled as members of the Osenkpika brotherhood threatened to kill him for revealing to his mother their conversation, which was against their rule.
Our source further gathered that the Osenkpika brotherhood had vowed to kill Harrison whenever he is seen as his blood is needed to appease their gods. “The Nigerian Police has failed us in handling the matter because the members of the deadly Osenkpika brotherhood cut across the broad spectrum of the community and the country at large, even as they have influence perpetrating their evil deeds without question. It is our desire Harrison receives shelter wherever he flees for safety”.
All efforts made to speak with Harrison’s mother, Doris, proved abortive as she was said to have eloped from the community alongside her other children over an unknown fire attack that got their family house completely burnt.
As of the time of filing this report, Harrison’s whereabouts have remained to be ascertained. He was last seen in early January 2017.
