By Stephen Owkowoi
Delta State, Nigeria-A resident of Udu Community, Delta State, Mr. Ogheneochuko Ofomor has publicly declared the mysterious disappearance of his wife and three children, who have been missing since February 2024. The distraught father made the appeal through Ika Mirror newspaper this week, expressing deep concern for the safety and whereabouts of his family.
According to Mr. Ogheneochuko Ofomor, his wife, Mrs. Doris Ofomor, and their three children between the ages of 18, 16 and 14 left their home in Udu in February
2024. Mrs. Doris left the house sometime that morning while he was at work. When he returned later in the day, the home was empty. At first, he thought they had gone to visit her sister or to the market. But hours turned into days, phone calls went unanswered. No one had seen or heard from them and have not been seen or heard from since. Mr. Ofomor said that there was no prior indication of conflict or distress within the family that could have led to their sudden disappearance.
He described his wife as a devoted mother and loving partner, making the situation even more baffling. The case was initially reported to the Delta State Police Command shortly after the disappearance, but according to Mr. Owkowo, progress in the investigation has been painfully slow. He is now appealing to the general public for any information that could lead to the discovery of his missing family. Local authorities have confirmed that the case remains open and active.

Police spokesperson DSP Bright Edafe told reporters that the force is still following up on leads and has urged anyone with relevant information to contact the nearest police station.
The incident has left the Udu Community in shock, with some residents organizing prayer vigils and awareness campaigns in solidarity with the family.
For now, the home remains quiet; a place filled with memories, echoing with laughter that once was. And Mr. Ofomor waits every single day praying that somewhere, somehow, his wife and children are still alive.
As the search continues, Mr. Ofomor holds on to hope, clinging to memories of better times while waiting for answers in a case that has left more questions than clues.
