IPOB: Police declares Jude, others wanted

The Nigeria Police Force has in a statement issued on August 5, 2024 declared five youths wanted over an alleged plot to bridge the law and order of the State.

The statement issued through the Delta State Police command Asaba, specifically declared one Acha Ogorchukwu Jude, coordinator of a suspected member of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB in Agbor, wanted for conspiring among others to implement a ‘Sit-at-home’ protest in Agbor.

Other members on the wanted list include Patrick Odeh, Felix Ikechukwu, Monday Philip, and Lawrence Okoh.

According to the statement, the wanted persons escaped from an arrest by a combine team of the police and other security operatives on Friday, August 2, 2024 following a credible intelligence on members of the IPOB members plan to State an unlawful order of Sit-at-home in Agbor.

The police urged members of the public with any information regarding the whereabouts of Jude and others to report to the nearest police station, assuring that all information would be treated with strict confidentiality and rewarded accordingly.

Meanwhile, an eyewitness account who spoke on the condition of anonymity, explained that individuals were killed during the operation, some arrested while others which include the above wanted persons, narrowly escaped with injuries.

He further explained that those arrested would face prosecution and possibly life imprisonment as the Nigerian law proscribed the group.

He said the whereabouts of Jude has remained unknown while the security operatives have placed surveillance around his family building and the community.
