Prominent grassroots politician and African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain in Ika Federal Constituency, Hon. Uche Ujeboh, has firmly debunked recent allegations linking him with the Labour Party, describing the claims as unfounded and politically motivated.
Speaking in a statement made available to the press on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at ADC NEC Meeting, Abuja, Hon. Ujeboh, who was the ADC flagbearer for the Delta State House of Assembly election in Ika South Constituency in 2023, cleared the air on the matter, saying: “Let it be known once and for all: I have never, at any point in my political journey, joined the Labour Party or any political party apart from ADC. ADC is the only political party I have ever known, worked for, and belonged to. I have never crossed the line.”
He explained that while he and many other progressives admired the energy of the Obidient movement in 2023, especially because ADC, as a party, had adopted the wave of youth-driven change, it did not translate to any formal association with the Labour Party.
“Supporting the ideals of good governance, transparency, and a better Nigeria doesn’t mean one has defected,” he noted. “My loyalty remains with ADC, my political home, my base, and my family”, he affirmed
Hon. Ujeboh reiterated his unwavering commitment to the development of Ika Federal Constituency and Delta State at large. He emphasized that politics for him has always been a platform for service, not a battleground for hatred or tribal division.
“My mission is clear, to serve the interests of my people without bias, bitterness, or the kind of dirty politics that has plagued our democracy for years. I do not believe in politics of hatred, deceit, or tribal sentiments. That’s not the kind of legacy I want to leave behind”, he declared.
He called on well-meaning Nigerians, particularly the people of Delta State, to rally behind ADC as the party prepares for a stronger outing in the 2027 general elections.
“The time to rebuild Nigeria is now, and we cannot do it alone. I urge all lovers of democracy, unity, and progress to join hands with the ADC. Together, we can rescue our country and chart a new course for future generations”, he concluded.
With his political base solidly intact and his voice becoming increasingly influential in the region, Hon. Uche Ujeboh remains one of the key figures to watch in Delta politics as 2027 draws closer.
