The 2023 Delta State House of Assembly candidate under African Democratic Congress, ADC, and the party’s chieftain in Ika South, Hon. Uche Ujebor has said that his party, the ADC is poised to charting a new course for transformation in Nigerian.
Hon. Ujebor disclosed this during a media chat in Abuja immediately after a successful NEC meeting of the ADC during the week.
The NEC meeting comes on the heels of Senator David Mark’s assumption of office as the new National Chairman of the party.
He noted that the ADC is positioning itself as a transformative force in the Nigerian politics as it aims to change the narrative and save Nigerians from the grip of the All Progressives Congress, APC, come 2027.
The ADC leader in Ika South emphasized that inclusivity, youth empowerment, integrity and unprecedented national development hallmarks the party’s vision through which it hopes to rescue Nigerians from poverty, insecurity, hunger and unending borrowing currently bedeviling the country.
Earlier, Senator David Mark, a former Senate President in his address, while thanking members of the party for the confidence reposed in him, he pledged to serve with integrity, transparency, courage and vision.
“Today marks not just the beginning of a new NEC session but the dawn of a new chapter in ADC; a chapter that we must write together with courage, unity and conviction,” he said.
While acknowledging the hardwork, patriotism, sacrifices and dedication of the founder and pioneer Chairman, Hon. Ralph Nwosu, who over the years built the party but now relinquishing leadership to him, said, “I assure you that under my leadership, we shall be committed to full democratic practices and principles that abhors imposition and special privileges. Internal democracy, transparency and accountability will be our mantra”
He assured that the party under the new dispensation will reflect meaningful inclusion of youths and 35% position reserved for women, adding that the NWC are working towards raising committees to review the manifesto and constitution of the party to reflect aspirations of the Nigerian people.
Senator David Mark enjoined all Nigerians to join the party saying, “ADC is the only party that guarantee equal opportunity to everyone regardless of age, gender, religion or region. Our handshake is across all divides,” he concluded.
