Sports University of Nigeria, Idumuje-Ugboko, Delta State, has emerged State Winner at the 2025 National Campus Debate organized by the National Orientation Agency.
This was disclosed in the official letter of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, and was made available to the Press, dated August 29th, 2025.
The letter while congratulating the institution for the rare feat, noted that their participation and success at the competition reflects commendable commitment to intellectual excellence, civic engagement and nation building.
The letter reads in part, “I write to convey my sincere congratulations thank you and your institution for emerging as the State Winner of the ongoing National Campus Debate 2025.
“Your institution’s participation and success at this stage reflect commendable commitment to intellectual excellence, civic engagement, and nation-building. We are proud of your contribution you this youth-focused initiative aimed at strengthening national values through debate and dialogue.”
According to the letter, the Sports University of Nigeria, Idumuje-Ugboko, is expected to represent Delta State at the Zonal Face-to-Face Debate Competition scheduled to hold between 15th – 22nd September, 2025 with the topic: “Unity in Diversity: Defining National Identity in Nigeria’s Multicultural Society.”

In his response, the Chancellor of the institution, Senator Prince Ned Nwoko, who doubles as the Senator representing Delta North at the Nigerian Senator, expressed joy at the institution’s victory at the competition, saying that the victory affirms the founding vision of the institution to nurture disciplined, knowledgeable, and civic-minded young Nigerians.
In his words, “As Chancellor of the Sports University of Nigeria, Idumuje-Ugboko, I am honoured to announce that the State-level National Campus Debate 2025, organized by the National Orientation Agency (NOA), was concluded today and our University emerged as the State Winner. This milestone reflects our commitment to combining sports excellence with academic and intellectual distinction.
“This victory is significant because it highlights not just the eloquence of our students, but also the strength of our founding vision to nurture disciplined, knowledgeable, and civic-minded young Nigerians. The NOA has rightly commended this achievement as a demonstration of our “commendable commitment to intellectual excellence, civic engagement, and nation-building.”
“I extend heartfelt congratulations to our debate team, their coach, and the entire University community for this remarkable success. Today’s triumph affirms that the Sports University of Nigeria is a true Citadel for Champions in sports, scholarship, leadership, and civic responsibility.”
