Two siblings were allegedly murdered by their stepbrother on the evening of September 30, 2025, in Idumuesah community, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.
The victims, identified as 19-year-old Gozie Nwaokoro and his 17-year-old sister, Oluchi, were reportedly killed by their stepbrother, Mr. Mike Nwaokoro, described by residents as a notorious criminal in the area.
An eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the incident occurred after the suspect was caught with the victims’ stolen motorcycle. When confronted, Mike allegedly conspired with members of his cult group to attack and kill the two siblings at their family home.
Sources said the suspect and his gang have continued to threaten to kill the only surviving brother of his late victims, Happy Nwaokoro, whenever he is seen, forcing other family members to flee the community for safety.
Residents alleged that Mike and his gang have been involved in several criminal activities, including armed robbery, kidnapping, and election violence, but have escaped arrest due to alleged political protection. The gang is reportedly linked to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and is notorious for its involvement in political thuggery.
Efforts to reach the police for comment on the incident were unsuccessful as of press time, while the suspect and his gang members remain at large.
