Senator Nwoko Scholarship Scheme: 90 Delta North Students commence studies at Sports University Under Full Scholarship

The prospects for young scholars in Delta North have brightened as the screening exercise for the Senator Ned Nwoko Scholarship Scheme was successfully concluded this week.

With the process now finalized, 90 students are set to commence their academic journey at the Sports University of Nigeria, Idumuje-Ugboko, fully funded by Senator Nwoko.

Announced earlier this year, the initiative provides full scholarships covering tuition and accommodation for ten students from each of the nine local government areas in Delta North.

Describing the program as a beacon of hope, Eze Onwenna commended Senator Nwoko’s commitment to youth empowerment.

“This is a lifeline and an answered prayer for many families. Senator Nwoko’s commitment to empowering young people is not just inspiring, it is transformative,” he stated.

The Sports University of Nigeria, renowned for its world-class facilities and academic excellence in sports and allied disciplines, will serve as the academic base for the beneficiaries.

The scholarship program is designed not only to provide access to quality education but also to instill leadership, discipline, and excellence among the youth.

Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the National Assembly, has consistently emphasized education as a cornerstone of sustainable development.

This scholarship scheme is one of several initiatives through which he seeks to invest in the region’s human capital and future prosperity.

“This milestone reflects the Senator’s enduring vision of societal transformation through education and opportunity,” Onwenna added.

“We are confident these young scholars will become ambassadors of Delta North and Nigeria.”

With screening completed and enrollment processes underway, the beneficiaries are expected to begin classes in the coming weeks.

The initiative is projected to create far-reaching impacts, fostering educational advancement, sports development, youth leadership, and community growth across the Delta North region.
