Okowa 2027: Dantes Odogwu criticises misinformation by naysayers

By Ebube J. Yeolawa

A social media influencer, Patriots Dantes Odogwu, has criticised the growing spread of misinformation and propaganda by naysayers online, lamenting the rate at which unverified claims are circulated on social media.

Odogwu made this known via his social media handle while reacting to a Facebook post alleging that Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa did not sponsor any bills during his tenure in the Senate from 2011 to 2015.

Describing the claim as both ignorant and misleading, Odogwu condemned the deliberate spread of false information.

“Social media has become a playground for misinformation, and some individuals appear to take pride in spreading unverified claims,” he said.

“How does one confidently disseminate outright falsehoods without research or verification? It goes beyond ignorance — it is deliberate deception.

“The claim that Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa sponsored zero bills during his four years in the Senate is entirely false.”

He further expressed concern over how easily such narratives are accepted by the public without scrutiny, noting that many people consume and share misinformation without critical evaluation.

Odogwu stated that, contrary to the claim, the former governor sponsored 12 bills during his time in the Senate.

“Let us set the record straight: Senator Okowa sponsored 12 bills while in office. Facts do not change to suit personal agendas,” he added.

He also promised to publish the full list of the bills in a subsequent post, noting that of 12 Bills, 2 later became Acts. via his social media handle while reacting to a Facebook post alleging that Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa did not sponsor any bills during his tenure in the Senate from 2011 to 2015.
