The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Restoration Parish, Alihame, Agbor, Delta State, has on Sunday July 20, 2025, held a special service in honour her Final Year students after a successful completion of their academic sojourn at the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor.
The event, themed “Wonders to My World” with a guiding scripture from Isaiah 8:18 — “Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders…” was described by many as a spiritual and memorable first of its kind.
The atmosphere in the parish was electrified with powerful praise and worship, in celebration of God’s guidance, support and divine presence throughout the academic years of the graduating students as the service kicked off as well as featuring quiz competition and “Seeking the Treasure” game.
The congregation echoed hymns with heartfelt devotion, while testimonies of faith, resilience, and God’s unwavering grace from students and members stirred emotions across the auditorium.
Pastor Patrick Akemu, in his sermon,used the biblical lives of David, Joseph, and Abraham to illustrate how individuals who walked with God often experience divine wonders in their lives. He noted that his message was one of hope, purpose, and a prophetic charge to the final year students to be beacons of light in the world beyond university walls.
He urged the graduands to live above limitations and be of good courage even in the face of scarcity, adversity, harsh economy and limitations, saying that the journey of life after school was not always rosy but averred that with determination, resilience, foresightedness, dedication, discipline and perseverance, they will always emerge victorious.
Also gracing the special event was the Pastor-in-Charge of the Parish, Pastor Ernest Nwasor, together with his gracious wife, Mrs. Queen Nwasor. Heads of departments and several other committed members who were present to show their love and support.
The Final Year Brethren (FYB) added glamour to the occasion by turning out in beautifully patterned Ankara outfits, symbolizing unity, culture, and the shared joy of completing a significant milestone. Their vibrant presence lit up the church and made the event all the more memorable.
The celebration reached its emotional climax during the thanksgiving session, where the students danced forward with gratitude in their hearts, thanking God for a successful four-year academic sojourn as they received Certificates of Service, along with gift items in recognition of their commitment to the parish during their time at the university and as members.
In every way, the RCCG Restoration Parish gave its Final Year students not just a send-forth service, but a launch into purpose and destiny. It was a heartfelt reminder that with God, their future is filled with signs, wonders, and endless possibilities.
