All is not well at the moment for the Omeye family of Idumuesah Community, Ika North East Local Government Area, Delta State, Nigeria as armed men and their sponsors have declared a serious attack against the family, particularly on one of the male children of the family, Mr Christian Omeye.
Our reporters in a fact finding mission reliably gathered that on January 4, 2024 at about noon time, Christian Omeye, an Abuloma branch staff of NESTOIL, an oil and gas company became a target of attack by the armed men after he repeatedly reported cases of pipelines vandalization and oil theft to men of the Nigeria Police Force and the military, an action which has led to several arrests of the vandals and oil thieves.
Our reporters further gathered that armed men at regular basis vandalize facilities of the oil company and that their sponsors are usually top government officials, senators and governors. To enable the arm men vandals and oil thieves to sustain their illegal business, they concluded that Christian Omeye must be eliminated.
It was gathered too that both the life of Christian Omeye and that of the members of his family are now in danger. Some of his colleagues were also killed by the same group of people.
Investigations revealed that it was the same gang of criminals who traced him to his home where they murdered his mother, Mrs Omeye Faith and his blood brother, Master Omeye Godspower. The sad incident took place on January 3, 2024 at about 5.30pm in the evening.
Investigations also revealed that the yet to be identified armed men were behind the attacks and killings of 14 soldiers and more than 40 civilians has been killed at Okwuama and Okoloba Communities in Ughelli and Bomadi Local Government Areas of Delta State.
A resident who refused to disclose his name said that Christian Omeye has reported the case to the police and the military, unfortunately, no arrest was made due to the heavy powers the sponsors of the armed men wield in government.
The resident disclosed that Mr Christian Omeye and members of his family have gone hiding to avoid been killed by the daredevil vandals.
However, all attempts to reach Mr Christian Omeye were not fruitful as his whereabouts.
